Carbon removal credits
We love that our biochar credits are tangible – not just a number on a registry, but something you can point to and say: this happened here. You can see the proof, and you can point to the soil where the carbon is stored for the long term.
This is what we are building at Carbon350.
Why our carbon credits?
Our Biochar Carbon Units (BCUs) represent one tonne of CO2 equivalent durably removed from the atmosphere and stored in soil.
Each tonne is produced using a rigorous digital measurement platform, independently verified by a third party, and tracked on a public registry.
Biochar offers a level of permanence that many other carbon removal approaches cannot match. Once carbon is locked into biochar during high-temperature pyrolysis, it remains stable for centuries.
Our project is nearing the end of its pilot phase on a working farm in Petersfield.
If you would like to see what we are doing, we would be delighted to welcome you and show you around. If you are a business looking to understand what high-integrity, locally rooted carbon removal looks like and to be part of it from the beginning – we would love to start a conversation.
From surplus local biomass to verified carbon credits
Every tonne we issue can be traced end to end, from the biomass feedstock source to the being being ready to use on soil:
1. Biomass from local tree surgery operations
2. High temperature pyrolysis with integrated heat capture and storage
3. High integrity biochar – every batch is tracked and verified
4. Application to local soils
“The biochar category is maturing. For years, buyers chose between two production tiers Industrial and Artisanal. Now there are three, and the new one – Distributed Biochar – fills a gap the market has needed: verified carbon removal with real co-benefits at an accessible price.“
